Framestore’s winning streak with the Visual Effects Society Awards may continue into 2012 with the news that some of the company’s highly talented artists have been nominated for three awards in categories stretching across features and commercials.

Spielberg’s Warhorse has been nominated for the Outstanding Supporting Visual Effects in a Feature Motion Picture Award. As the sole provider of visual effects for this critically acclaimed film, Framestore is thrilled that its very own Duncan Burbidge, Ben Morris, Mike Mulholland and Chris Zeh have all been honoured. This category sees a double-whammy Framestore nomination because Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows is the recipient of another nod, with Framestore’s Sirio Quintavalle being one of the four credited talents.

Framestore’s commercials skills have been recognized in the form of an Outstanding Visual Effects in Animated Commercial or Video Game Trailer nomination for the epic 2011 Super Bowl spot, “Coca-Cola Siege.” Credit here goes to Russell Dodgson, Simon French, Diarmid Harrison-Murray and Sarah Hiddlestone.
The VES awards, now in its tenth year, recognizes and honours the most outstanding visual effects work of the year. Framestore has been widely awarded by the prestigious body of VES judges, with multiple nominations that have resulted in two recent winning trophies (the 2010 Outstanding Supporting Visual Effects in a Feature Motion Picture for Sherlock Holmes and the 2011 Outstanding Animated Character in an Live Action Feature Motion Picture for Dobby in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1).

Framestore’s Co-Founder and Chief Executive, William Sargent, said, “Three VES nominations signify another bumper year for Framestore. We’re absolutely delighted that our talented team has once again been highlighted by these prestigious shortlists. The fact that we have once more been nominated across film and commercials categories shows how we are remaining loyal to both markets. So a big thank you to all our clients from both sectors for giving us the opportunities to create such hi-end, industry-leading work.”
