Kompas, one of Indonesia's leading print and online media publishers, has appointed Singapore-based MatchMove Games as its exclusive games provider.

Under the partnership, Kompas.com users who click on the "Games" link from the homepage will be taken to a new Kompas and MatchMove Games site. This co-branded page will give Kompas users access to a wealth of game content, including both downloadable games and browser-based free-to-play titles.

"With over 30 million internet users, Indonesia has one of Southeast Asia's largest and fastest growing online populations, many of whom are already active gamers," says Shailesh Naik, MatchMove Games CEO. "Even so, with internet penetration rate still at only 12.5%, there is lots of room for growth - possibly doubling or tripling in the next few years. That's millions of new users hungry for games that we will of course be glad to serve."

"We believe that providing a top-tier games offering on top of our excellent news and lifestyle content is just what our audience needs," observes Edi Taslim, Business General Manager, Kompas. "We will use all of our media resources to ensure that this new venture is a success."

MatchMove Games has already hit a number of milestones since its launch last year, and currently hosts millions of players every month on its games sites. With the Asia Pacific region now fueling worldwide Internet growth, MatchMove focused on its strategy to bring the best local, regional and global game content to its users.

As part of the partnership, MatchMove Games will offer its full catalog of hundreds of world-class titles, including, Tower Bloxx Deluxe ,the Farm Frenzy series, and the award-winning mega-hit Plants vs. Zombies. MatchMove Games will also add social and massively multiplayer games to its lineup in the near future.
