Creative Industries Fair 2010 slated for 21 - 23 May in Singapore

As Singapore aims to become a vibrant creative hub in the global arena, there is a need to fuel the artistic and literary creativity, design innovation, business entrepreneurship and technological innovation within the local Creative Industries (CI). 'CI Fair 2010' is organised by Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA), supported by Ministry of Information, Communications and Arts, Design Singapore council, Media Development Authority, National Arts Council, Spring Singapore. It will be held at Marina Square Central Atrium, Level One. WDA has developed the CI WSQ that encapsulates workplace competencies for the Creative Industries.

To ensure the effective implementation of the CI WSQ framework, WDA has appointed the CI Manpower Skills Training Councils (MSTCs) for each of the three sub-sectors, which comprises of creative industry veterans and representatives from partner agencies. There is no academic pre-requisite required for admission into the CI WSQ training programme and progressive qualification pathways can be created to facilitate career advancement prospects.

In recent years, several local start-ups and international creative enterprises have established their presence in Singapore, resulting in an explosion of career opportunities in CI.
